| I would like to represent the traditional ornaments and tribes of Indonesian culture heritage in my works. I'm concern in combining the aesthetics of Indonesian ornaments with western arts like art-nouveau, dada-art, or steampunk. For this I haven't combined anything with the real 'western' one but it was inspired from west Javanese's Tari Topeng Panji Cirebon (mask-dance) costume and east Javanese folk-story; The Golden Snail, the character of Dewi Galuh Candra Kirana, a heartbroken woman. The mask was inspired from, also Cirebonan, but this time was Mega Mendung batik, one famous batik from the place. |
